Condolences
One night after juicing it pretty good Scoot crashed on my couch. I awoke in the middle of the night and smelled something cooking. I jumped out of bed and ran into the kitchen only to find " The Galloping Gourmey " (alias Scoot) in the process of cooking a full scale breakfast (bacon, eggs and homefries) at 4 A.M. in the morning. He said he was hungry and couldn't wait til morning to eat. (What a character!!!) I must admit he was a great cook. I can't remember how many times Scoot would cook for us when him , Reno and myself were together. He loved to cook. Rest in Peace Scooter, I will miss you. Heiner.
I used to have a party for my co-workers at Raymond's at summer shutdown in my garage (circa late 80's and early 90's). Scooter used to attend some of these events. At one of these party's (We were already half jacked) I got Scooter to do a solo rock song. We stationed him at the bar, shut off all the lights and pointed a light on him so all you could see was him. I played the song Bohemian Rapsody by Queen just cranked. He played imaginary keyboards and sang the song while it played. He was awesome. The guys just loved it.During the night he sang several more tunes. He was amazing how he could hit the high notes so well. You could tell he had the Torti music talent in his blood. I had a lot of fun with Scoot over the years. I will sorely miss him. Heiner.
Scooter liked to go to yard sales on Sat. mornings with me.At this one sale there was a 6 ft. tall Pink Panther and he wanted it for one of his nieces. We negotiated and bought it. We put it in the cab of the truck with us and drove around the rest of the morning with this in the cab with us. You should have seen all the rubber necks trying to get a glimpse of this Pink Panther as we drove down the road. We had a riot with this crazy stuffed animal. I think we had more fun with it than any kid would have. (Heiner)
