Vandenberg, Jacoba (nee: vanWilgen) - Cobi passed away peacefully at Telfer Place Nursing Home on Wednesday, May 11th, 2011 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Arie (2005). Loving mother of Sonya (Bob) McComb, Arie (Ada), Jack (Paulette), Sylvia (Clifford) Atfield, Pat Young (Keith Brooks), the late Zeina Armstrong and Gerry. Devoted grandmother of 14 grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brothers Arie and Jaap; of Holland. Cobi was born in Leiden, Holland and came to Canada in 1950 to pier 21 in Halifax. At Cobi's request a private Memorial Visitation will be held at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue with cremation to follow. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Cobi in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
A Celebration of Jacoba's life will take place on Saturday, May 21st from 1-4 p.m. at the Paris Masonic Lodge, 98 Scott Avenue, Paris (just past the Mary Maxims, corner of Scott and Juniper).
