Obituary of Frances Plant

PLANT, Frances Lorene (nee Mears) - Passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre, Brantford after a lengthy illness on Thursday, April 21st., 2011 in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late Sherman for over 62 years. Loving mother of the late Dale (Barbara) Plant, Joe (Linda) Plant, Jim (Bridgett) Plant, and Cindy (Shawn) VanSickle. Devoted grandmother of Jeffrey (Jean), Jennifer, Jane (Patrick), Heather (Blake), Josh (Ashley), Joey (Val), Jake, Jeremy (Angela), Kerri, Heidi (Trevor), and great-grandchildren Brianna, Jarett, Jacob, Austin, Alina and Holden. She is survived by her sister June Norman. Predeceased by her sister Audrey Lawrence and her brothers Joseph Mears and Vern Freeborn. She will also be fondly remembered by her sister-in-law Laurene (the late Louis) Campbell, her brother-in-law Ivan Plant and many other nieces, nephews and friends. Frances loved gardening and spending time with her family. A special thanks to the staff at St. Joseph's Lifecare for their compassion and caring for Frances since 2004. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., on Monday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Larry Harrington officiating. Interment Salt Springs Cemetery. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or St. Joseph's Lifecare Foundation would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Frances in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
