Obituary of John Kirby

Kirby, John Dean - Peacefully at the Brantford General Hospital on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in his 64th year. It is with great sadness that I lost my best friend, lover, husband of 43 years. John was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to so many. Beloved husband to Linda (nee: Peterson). Father to John (Margy) and Jason (Wendy). Grandfather to Bridgett, Wesley, Stephanie and Marissa. Brother of Harold (Marie), Ray (Joanne), Helen and his sister-in-law Jackie. Predeceased by his parents Ernest and Marie, sister Doreen, brother Don and infant son Michael. Also predeceased by his father-in-law Glen and his wife IdaBelle Peterson. Brother-in-law Bill and his wife Sandy, Glen and Michael. Loved by many nieces and nephews. He will be also be missed by his extended family Bob and Connie Robb and family, camping families Cecil and Marilyn Worden, Dennis and Roseanne Daniels, Peter and Helen Purdy, Ken and Linda Pain and many more. John was retired from Keeprite where he worked for 36 years. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Juravinski Cancer Centre, Hamilton, Brantford General Hospital-Palliative Care Unit or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of John in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
