HUEMPFNER, Hans - Gone to be with his Lord, peacefully in his sleep on Sunday, March 27, 2011, at the John Noble Home. It is with a deep sense of loss that the family announces his passing. Devoted husband, caring father and beloved Grandpa and Opa, Hans was born on May 15, 1925 in Katymar Hungary, second son of Josef and Elisabeth (Krix) Huempfner, brother to Michael. Predeceased by his parents and brother and leaves his wife Katharine (Kathe) of 63 years, his 2 daughters, Elfie and Helene (Andrew), along with 6 grandchildren, Tanya (Glenn), Angela (Richer), Rose (Paul), John, Kris (Monica) and Shannon (Deryk) and 8 great-grandchildren, Brenden, Tristen, Trinity, Tobias, Brianna, Karis, Olivia and Kaidence. Hans was employed for over 34 years with Hamilton Gear and Machine Company in Toronto and he was proud to have produced the gears that open and close the (Sky Dome) Rogers Centre retractable roof, boasting he had engraved his initials on those gears. Friends will be received at the BECKETT - GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, on Wednesday, March 30th from 7-9 p.m., and Thursday, March 31st, from 12-1 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Donations to charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
