MATTHEWS, Herbert "David" - Peacefully at Park Lane Terrace Nursing Home, to be with his Lord on Monday, December 13th, 2010 in his 85th year. Beloved husband and companion of 51 years to Verna. Loving father of Brenda Matthews, Pat and her husband John Busk, Don Matthews and his wife Julie. Caring grandfather of Christina and her husband John Cunningham, Rob Busk, Jenna Matthews and Jacob Matthews. Also survived by his brother Ted and his wife Joyce. David loved to travel with his family, enjoyed photography, volunteering his time to help others and was a long time contributing member of St. George Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will be held at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of David in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial forest.
