Obituary of Laurie Cheney

CHENEY, Laurie Marie (nee:Grieve) - Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family at the Brantford General Hospital on Monday, September 27th, 2010 in her 58th year. Beloved wife of Rick Cheney. Loving mother of Dan Poole and his wife Erica, the late Aaron Poole (1995), and Nathan Poole. Caring grandmother of Skyler Poole. Dear sister of Dennis Grieve and his wife Judy and the late Barry Grieve. Predeceased by her parents Leonard and Hazel Grieve. She will also be missed by many other family and friends. Laurie started figure skating at the age of 6 and went on to teach/coach for over 30 years. It was one of her great loves. She also enjoyed raising and showing dogs and scrapbooking. Friends and family will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue on Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 10:00 a.m with Reverend Jim Clark officiating. Interment Pioneer Cemetery, Burford. Donations to the Princess Margaret Hospital or the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Laurie in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
