Dunsdon, Charles Leslie "Les" - September 20, 1913 - August 6, 2010 Les passed away peacefully at Billings Court Manor, Burlington on August 6th, 2010 in his 97th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 72 years, Catherine (Kay) in 2009 and by his brothers Sidney, Thomas, Gordon, Harold and Chester and sisters Gertrude Naylor and Lillian McElhinney. Dear father of Carole (George) Zigmond of Sarnia, Mary (Al) Middleton of Airdrie, AB, and Joan (John) Dunham of Burlington. Grandfather of Lynn (Bob) Garbe of Airdrie, AB, Mark (Linda) Middleton of Sherwood Park, AB, Joan (Earl) Tjostheim, of Stony Plain, AB, Grant (Nathalie) Ayres, of Hearst, and Lesley (Mike) Gibson, of Burlington. Also survived by 14 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Les loved archery and made it his career soon after he and Kay were married. They lived and worked together in their business, in Brantford, for many years. He was co-founder and longtime member of the Brant Bowmen Archery Club and a lifetime member of the National Field Archers Association. He and Kay are on the honor roll at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Hall of Fame for their contribution as developers and promoters of archery in Brantford. They were members of Echo Place United Church until 2004. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, Brantford on Wednesday from 10-11 a.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the chapel on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment of ashes will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, Brantford. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Les's family would like to extend special thanks to Nancy, his personal care giver for all her love and affection, also to Dr. Matt Robinson and the caring staff of Billings Court Manor. A tree will be planted in memory of Les in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
