Condolences
I was living in Brantford from 2002-2003. Having moved there from Toronto I did not know anyone. During a church gathering I met Jean who became my only friend during my time there. Although the age difference between us was great, Jean and I spent quite a bit of time together and she was always willing to help when I needed a hand. Jean still called me from time to time after I had moved away from Brantford, and in fact had just called me this summer in Montreal to wish me a happy birthday. Unfortunately, I was away in Europe at the time and by the time I returned on July 22nd, Jean had already died. I am incredibly sorry I missed the opportunity to get to talk to her one more time and am really touched that she still remembered my birthday seven years after my departure. She was one of the most loyal and kind people I had the good fortune to meet and I loved her strong personality and stories. I am deeply saddened about her passing.
I was saddened to hear of Jean's passing. Although I'd only known her a short time, I looked forward to our visits and her wonderful stories. She will be missed.
