Obituary of Harold Mulligan

Mulligan, Harold Albert - Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, April 18th, 2010 in his 88th year. Beloved husband of Dorothy. Loving father of David (Vivian), and Maureen (Allen) Novak. Devoted grandfather of two precious granddaughters, Cindy Pentland and Sherry Whiting, and his great-grandchildren Chad Haggith, and Corey Pentland. He is survived by his sister Lillian Stansbury, of Angus, Ontario, and his sister-in-law Lillian Bryant of California, USA. Predeceased by his sister Gertrude Cooke. He will also be fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Harold served overseas during the Second World War, in the 11th Battery, 12th Field Regiment, R.C.A., in both England and Europe, where he met his wife of 66 years, Dorothy Hayward. He was a long time member of the R.C.L. Dunsdon Legion #461, and the King George Rd. Seniors. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 10-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Stedman Community Hospice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Harold in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
