Korfmann, Arnold - It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our loving Pop, Opa, Onkel and friend on Tuesday, November 24th, 2009 in his 90th year. Arnold, born April 15th, 1920, is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ethel (Traute). Loving father of Bernard and Keri Korfmann, Wilfred and Karen Korfmann, and Margret and Martin Elsasser. Loved Opa to Andreas, Lukas, Christopher, Joshua, Katie and Emily. Loving brother-in-law to Erna Korfmann. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by eight brothers and sisters. Arnold and his wife immigrated to Canada from Germany in 1953 and eventually settled in Brantford. Arnold was a long time employee of Massey-Ferguson and dedicated member of the German Canadian Association. Special thanks to the staff at Riverview Terrace Retirement Residence, and the Brantford General Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 10-11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 57 Brant Ave. A Funeral Service will follow at the church, on Friday at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Stephen Scheidt. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations to Faith Lutheran Church or the Palliative Care Unit at Brantford General Hospital would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Arnold in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
