MUTA, Antonina Sophie - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Antonina Muta, in her 86th year on October 19th, 2008 with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and daughter-in-law Josephine Muta surrounding her in song and prayer. She is predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph and baby son John in France. She was a loving and nurturing mother for daughter Janina Berenyi and son Joseph Junior. Antonina was loved and admired by her granddaughters Nicole Cross and Monika Berenyi and her grandsons Michael, Mark and fiancee Lindsay Perry who regarded her with great respect as a role model of our Polish heritage. Great-grandchildren Taylor and Brenden adored her and called her "Little Babci". She will be sadly missed by grandson-in-law James Cross, her best friend Victoria Mroz and her faithful friend Joe Pawlak. Also sadly missed by Jenny, Diane, Carol Ann and family. Antonina was kind, thoughtful and was always ready to help or feed someone. She will be remembered as a great cook for many polish weddings and celebrations at the Polish Mutual Benefit Society on Pearl Street. Special thanks to the Critical Care Nurses at the Brantford General Hospital. The family will welcome friends at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Rosary will be held on Wednesday at 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. with Father Adam Wroblewicz officiating. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery. Donations to the Brantford General Hospital - Critical Care Unit would be appreciated.
