Obituary of Shirley Martin

MARTIN, Shirley Jean - Passed away suddenly while visiting friends in St. Catharines, on Sunday, July 20th, 2008 in her 82nd year. Beloved wife of the late George Macdonald Martin (1993). Loving mother of Ray (Jane) Martin and Ian Martin. Devoted grandmother of Shannon Maloney. She will be fondly remembered by her family and many friends. Shirley was a volunteer at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre, and past president of both the St. Joseph's Lifecare and the Willett Hospital Volunteer Associations. She participated in many volunteer organizations in the community. Many of her friends will also recognize her artistic talents and abilities from her many paintings, flower arrangements and other endeavors. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 1 p.m. Donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Shirley in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
