Obituary of Barbara Patterson

PATTERSON, Barbara J. (nee Angus) - Peacefully, with loving care at the Stedman Community Hospice on Saturday, January 17th, 2015 in her 85th year. Beloved wife of the late John D. Patterson (1989). Loving mother of Deborah (Jim) Silverthorne, Patty (the late Renny) Digout, David Patterson (Dede Edwards), Gavin Patterson, and Ian Patterson. Devoted and loved grandmother of Zeb Silverthorne (Dean Gray), Sarah Digout (Kevin Gard), Simone Patterson (Aaron Chopp), Kali (Steve) Gilroy, Eli Silverthorne (Gillian Green), Bram Silverthorne, and Paul Digout, and much loved "GG" to her great-grandchildren Ella and Winston. Survived by her brothers Douglas (Betty) Angus, and Malcolm (Jean) Angus. Predeceased by her parents Margaret (nee Muirhead) and Malcolm Angus, sisters Margaret (Fred), Ellen (Jack), and Rachel, and her brothers Morton (Lee), Gavin (Shirley), and Bill (Jean). She will also be fondly remembered by her many other family members and her close friends and neighbors. Barbara loved spending time with her family, especially dinner gatherings. She loved cooking and has been an inspiration to her children and grandchildren who all have favourite recipes and the traditions she created. She enjoyed weekly outings with her bowling group and she was a long time member of Probus. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Friday, January 23rd from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow, in the chapel on Friday at 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Stedman Community Hospice or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Barbara in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
