Condolences
I met Roy and Joan at Orkney Church and quickly they became like extended family. We have had and continue to have great respect and admiration for these two who have both had their health problems and yet met each day with enthusiasm and utter faith in the Good Lord. I am amazed at how long Roy remained here on earth and how much joy this special couple continued to have. Blessings and prayers to all of your family!

In my mind's eye, I always see Mr. Holland from Orkney days (1966-71) when Dad pastored the Church of the Nazarene there. Quite soon after we arrived in Orkney (July 1966) the church had a picnic with a huge bonfire outside. I think it was a kind of welcome thing for our family. Mr. Holland had a burlap bag, or maybe a big sugar sack and a bucket of water. He would soak the cloth and then swat at and smother any spots in the dry grass where embers landed. I had never seen anyone do that before, and it obviously made a big impression on me since I still remember it.
I also remember him leading the singing, most often at the opening part of Sunday School, and always with great enthusiasm.
My Wonderful Dad; who taught and lead his family in Gods grace, He was a man of great faith and lived and breathed the Holy Spirit showing God in everything he did by loving and serving Our Lord . He has left us a baton to pass, the truth to our future generations, to follow Christ > following by reading the word and being in the will of God within the scripture as it stands for The Light, The Truth and The Way in everything...I can hear our Father saying already, Well Done, thy Good and Faithful Servant ! " I Love You Dad Always Deborah xo " Thank you for being our Father! and showing us by example the way! You will be Blessed.
Joan (Samma) & family, We are all thinking of you and know that Roy (Poppa) is rejoicing in heaven! He is growling at the girls from heaven now. What a beautiful angel we have watching over us all :) Love you xo
