Till the master of all good workmen shall set us to work anew, rest easy, Dad. Mum has waited quite a while. Love Stuart, Liz, Craig and Gavin
“If you’ve got it, give it.” We won’t forget that. How you roasted your bare feet on the blistering hot Queensland road running to get mango ice blocks from the ice cream van for your grand kids. We’ll always laugh at that. Your love of a fine single-malt. We’ll all raise a glass to that. Life has to end Dad. Memories don’t. In loving memory. Roslyn, Holly, Chloe, Toyah and Keith.
Just one last stage of the journey to go, Dad. You were enough of a man for wee Margaret Black to decide to marry you. That is perhaps the most glowing testimonial any man could ever get. You were fond of Rudyard Kipling’s ‘IF’ with its craft connotations. That great man also once said: “Till the master of all good workmen shall set us to work anew”, that fits, I think, as a farewell. ‘Til we work again together, Dad, rest easy and say hi to Mum. We miss you both now. Love Stuart, Liz, Craig and Gavin
