STIRLING, Dorothy Sarah (nee Maben) - Passed away peacefully at her home on February 3rd, 2014, in her 91st year. Dorothy was recently predeceased by her devoted husband of more than 63 years, Douglas Stirling. Dorothy was greatly loved by her daughters Kathy (George) Wheatley of Brantford, Janet Stirling of Victoria, B.C. and her son Dave (JoAnne) Stirling of Hagersville. She was proud of her grand-daughters Sara Wheatley and Karin (Chris Thoms) Wheatley. She is survived by her brothers Jim (Ruth) Maben of Oakville and David (Doreen) Maben of Guelph. Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters Margaret Maben, Jean Maben, Betty Griffith and Ruth Sherman. Dorothy was a good mother and homemaker who actively enjoyed ice skating and dancing well into her 80's. She was devoted to the practice of her religion throughout her entire life and was grateful for the spiritual support and care she received through her Christian Science practitioner and nurses. At Dorothy's request cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, 519-752-4331. A tree will be planted in memory of Dorothy in the Beckett - Glaves Memorial Forest.
