HUELIN, Carson Sheldon - Passed away peacefully, with his loving parents by his side, after a courageous battle with Batten Disease at the McMaster Children's Hospital, Hamilton on December 24th, 2013. He was almost 10 years old. Beloved son of Sheldon Huelin and Lori-Ann Keeping. Loving brother of Zackery, Preston (2000), Emma-Lynn, and Jamie (2009). Dear grandson of Joyce and Dorman Huelin, and Betty and Kelly Keeping. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and family members. Carson has been part of the first ever Batten disease stem cell treatment program in North America, leading the way for many other possible treatments for Alzheimers, spinal chord afflictions, Parkinsons and many neurological advancements in medicine. He was a true hero to the end. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave., Brantford on Saturday from 2 - 4 p.m. and on Sunday from 12 - 1 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Sunday, December 29th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation. Donations to the Batten Disease Support and Research Association (www.bdsra.org) would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Carson in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
