Obituary of Matthew Smith

SMITH, Matt - Passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, November 4th, 2013 in his 42nd year. Beloved husband of Leslee Smith (nee Green). Devoted father of Izaiah and Zachariah. Dear son of Janet Rushton, and Wayne and Tracy Smith. He is survived by his brother Richard, and predeceased by his brother Darrylle. He will be fondly remembered by all of his other family members and many friends. Matt was member of the Masonic Lodge A.F.& A.M., a member of the board of directors with the Lansdowne Childrens' Centre Foundation, and Owner-Operator (Founder) of Solo Cable here in Brantford, www.solocable.com. He was also a proud supporter of Habitat for Humanity and the Brantford Food Bank, and was nominated for "Entrepreneur of the Year Award" through the Chamber of Commerce, Brantford - Brant for 2013. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Wednesday, November 6th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 - 10 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Thursday at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Donations to the Lansdowne Childrens' Centre Foundations would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Matt in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
