Obituary of Shirley Sawicki

SAWICKI, Shirley Grace (nee Colwell) - Passed away suddenly, at her home on Sunday, September 15th, 2013 in her 75th year. Beloved wife of the late Ronald Sawicki (1995). Loving mother of the late Lollie Foster (Rob), Tom, and Judy Sawicki (Pete). Devoted grandmother of Robbie and Derek Foster, Kyla Sawicki, and Dalton and Austin Wreaks. She is survived by her brother Alex Colwell, and predeceased by her parents Bill and Annie (Goyit) Colwell, her sister Faye Wagner, and brother John Colwell. She will also be fondly remembered by all of her other family members and friends. Shirley was a Registered Nurse at the Brantford General and St. Joseph's Hospitals in Brantford for over 33 years. She loved her cat Snuggles, bowling and playing her card games, especially Bridge and Mexican Rummy. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Ave. on Wednesday, September 18th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. and on Thursday, September 19th from 10 - 11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery. Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, or Sick Kids Hospital, Toronto would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Shirley in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
