Lois Scott, Family Care Counselor

I have been a Family Care Counselor at Beckett-Glaves since 2004, having worked in the funeral industry for 16 years.  Brantford is my home where I am married with three children and four grandchildren.  I am a member of both Bell City Women’s Probus Club of Brant and Beta Sigma Phi.  I graduated with Honors from Mohawk College with a Certificate in the Concepts of Bereavement Support program, and have completed extensive training in grief courses under the direction of well-known grief specialist, Dr. Bill Webster as well as attending numerous seminars for ministering to the bereaved.  I am available to our families for short-term counseling, and facilitate a grief support group for widows twice a year.  My education and training, coupled with my own personal experience of grief and loss, has enabled me to provide our families with comfort and the ability to move through their grief experience.

As a Family Aftercare Counselor, I provide services to families by processing pension and insurance forms, and cover a comprehensive list of necessary paperwork that people must face following the death of a loved one.  Many families are surprised and grateful that we offer this extensive and very helpful service.
