BUTLER, Elsie May (nee Farmer) - Passed away peacefully on Friday, March 21, 2014 at Brierwood Gardens, in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Herbert Butler (1973) for over 70 years. Much loved mother of Marilyn (Ed) Morrison, the late Doug and the late Donald Butler. Dear grandmother of Jim (Melissa), Jeff (Nicole), Lisa, Shawn, Kyle, Derek and Todd and great-grandmother of Holly, Emily, Bailey, Riley, Jake, Liam and Daniel. Loving sister of Betty (Harry) Austin. She will also be dearly missed by many other family members and friends. Elsie was a very hard worker and for many years she owned and operated the Brantford Service Station along with her son Doug. She was an active member of St. Jude's Church for many years and later in life she helped many of her "Old People" with the challenges of day to day life, until she took sick herself. Friends will be received at the Beckett-Glaves Family Funeral Centre, 88 Brant Avenue, on Tuesday, March 25th, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Donations to the Alzheimer Society of Brant would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Elsie in the Beckett - Glaves Memorial Forest.
