MINES, Maurice Elliott - It is with great sorrow the family announces the passing of Maurice Mines, on Sunday, November 17th, 2013, at the Brantford General Hospital, in his 92nd year. Beloved husband of Young So for over 10 years. Dear brother-in-law of Janet of England, Oak (Jean) So of Brantford. Loving step-father of Joan (Barry) Sheldrick of Dundas. Uncle of Paul (Sue) Mines in England, who were dearly loved by Maurice as he was by them. Step-grandfather of Christine and Nichole. Much loved uncle of Genhee (Jerome) and Young. He will also be dearly missed by many other family members and friends. Maurice proudly served with the RAF in Britian during WWII, and was posted in India following the war. He worked for many years as an electrician and was an avid fan of airshows and traveling. Friends will be received at the BECKETT-GLAVES FAMILY FUNERAL CENTRE, 88 Brant Avenue, on Tuesday, November 19th, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A Legion and Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow. Donations to Doctors Without Borders would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Maurice in the Beckett-Glaves Memorial Forest.
