It is with very heavy hearts that our family share that Don passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 3rd at St. Joesph’s Hospital in Hamilton. Don was in his 86th year. Companion and dear friend to Dianne Barber. Loving father to Leon, Dawna and Dan(Tammy). Cherished grandpa to Brooks Bereziuk, Karissa Bereziuk and Danielle Douglas. Predeceased by his parents, Clarence and Grace Douglas and sisters, Shirley Bond and Dorthy Newitt. Don was raised in Brant County on the family farm. He was later led to the automotive industry beginning his career at McKerlie-Millen as an automotive machinist before establishing his own business; Douglas Automotive. With a passion of everything mechanical, Don became a founding member and 1st president of The Brantford Piston Pushers Car Club. He was also a founding member of Kohler Dragway in Cayuga and later co-track manager. His love of racing, sports, motorcycles and his shop cats shone through in every conversation. A special thank you to St.Joseph's Hospital for all the care Don received. Don will be deeply missed by his family and friends. “See ya in the funny papers” At the families request, cremation has taken place.
