This poem is dedicated to my mom, a woman of courage who, in the face of much adversity, maintained her dignity up until the end. My Beautiful Mom You taught me resiliency, You faced it yourself. With dignity, you faced life, You didn't give in to the challenges, Up until the end. You fought for independence. I know it became too much, I know you suffered a great deal, But, You still fought. It appeared hopeless in your eyes And You expressed this hopelessness, Asking often, Why me? I wish I knew. Life, you said, was unfair, But, This is the life I have been given. You gave me life, Yet, I could do nothing, To ease your suffering. I hope it is now eased. I can see you walking tall, Walking straight, You smile as I look up to you. My mom, My beautiful mom. I will always remember you and live my life in your honour.
